Awareness Training on Solar Energy Technologies Funded by ADB

The Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, in collaboration with the Centre for Renewable and Sustainable Energy Development, conducted a two-day Awareness Training on Solar Energy Technologies on 9–10 August 2025 at the College of Science and Technology (CST). The programme, funded by the Asian Development Bank project TA-6598 BHU: first-year undergraduate students attended Preparing Renewable Energy for Climate Resilience, from Information Technology, Architecture, and Software Engineering. The training introduced students to Bhutan’s energy scenario, the importance of renewable energy, and the working principles of solar photovoltaic and thermal systems. Participants engaged in hands-on experiments with solar PV panels and visited STAR C’s facilities, including hybrid, grid-tied, standalone PV systems, and solar thermal installations. Students expressed that the programme enhanced their technical knowledge and inspired them to explore innovative solutions for future energy challenges.
